COUN 4133/5133 Introduction to Play Therapy

In this interactive and blended-format workshop, participants will learn the essential elements and principles of play therapy including: history, theory, modality, application, skills/techniques, and the current state of play therapy. An experiential component focuses on basic play therapy skill development within the context of ethical and cultural practice. NOTE: This course provides students with instruction in history, theories, and application of play therapy consistent with Association for Play Therapy (APT), and as such, 67.5 Continuing Education (CE) hours towards the mandatory 150 required hours for Registered Play Therapy (RPT) certification.
