SW 1001 Introduction to Social Work and Social Services

This course will introduce prospective social work majors to the field of social work, its history, values, and populations that are served. Students will become familiarized with the various roles, functions, and tasks that generalist social workers perform. Presentations by social work professionals in different fields of practice will supplement classroom lecture, discussion and small group exercises.
