COUN 5133 Creativity and Counseling

This course will explore various creative counseling interventions with individuals, couples and families. Students will have an opportunity to explore the intersections between the creative and therapeutic process and how to use creativity as a stimulus for change in counseling. This course will explore topics of music, drama, dance, visual art, literature, play, humor, phototherapy, and cinema therapy and apply it to diverse case examples. The course will include didactic and experiential learning, role plays, and demonstrations. Students need no formal training or experience in the expressive arts.
