Historical development of geometry models that do not assume Euclid's fifth postulate. Emphasis on Poincare's disc and upper half-plane models, distance and area in the hyperbolic plane, and Mobius transformations. Prerequisite(s): MATH 2500 (800:076); MATH 4500/5500 (800:160g); MATH 3610/5610 (800:165g) or MATH 3600/5600 (800:166g).
